Description |
The yearbook is called Reynolian; A log cabin served as the first school in Truro Township in 1819. By 1858 a two-story brick school was completed on the north-west corner of the intersection of Jackson Street and Broadwyn Drive. The Reynoldsburg Union Academy was organized in 1868 under superintendent Dr. Darlington J. Snyder. It was located on the south-east corner of the same intersection as the 1858 school. The Academy had 12 grades and graduated its’ first class of six students in 1871. The two story brick building was remodeled in 1925 and a third floor was added. The first yearbook, the Reynolian was published in 1943. The building is now the Hannah J. Ashton Middle School. Reynoldsburg currently (2018) has two campuses of high schools, one on Livingston Avenue, the other on Summit Road. Reynoldsburg High School's current Livingston Campus building opened in 1961. In 2011, Reynoldsburg redesigned the high school system, using interest based "academies" for students to get a better learning experience. |
